Lake Panorama Golf

Early plans for the Lake Panorama development included two golf courses, one on each side of the lake. Richard Watson was hired to design both. The result was the 18-hole Lake Panorama National on the east, and the 9-hole Panorama West, both of which opened in 1971.

Both golf courses are owned by the Lake Panorama Association, managed by Lake Panorama National, and open to the public for annual memberships and daily play. Each course offers its own unique set of challenges and opportunities.

Lake Panorama National Golf Course offers 18 holes with a variety of yardages. Iowa Section PGA and Iowa Golf Association tournaments are held at the course each year, a testament to the course's quality. There are several levels of annual memberships, while others come to the course through stay-and-play golf packages, corporate golf outings, and daily green fees.
The black tees play at a demanding 7,024 yards, while the blue and white tees at 6,729 and 6,182 yards offer plenty of challenge. The red tees play at 5,265 yards.
There are five ponds that impact seven holes. The course contour is fairly flat on the front side and rolling on the back. The two sides complement each other, making all 18 holes an extraordinary experience.
The LPN pro shop has been honored as Iowa Section PGA's Resort Merchandiser of the Year. The shop carries the latest in golf club technology and men's and women's apparel, plus footwear, headwear, junior golf and accessories. Call the pro shop at 641-755-2024.

The Panorama West Golf Course and Clubhouse is located north of Highway 44 and east of Redwood Avenue. Play on the course is first-come, first-served, except on weekends and holidays when tee times are recommended.
Each hole is a par-3, with the option to play from par-4 tees on five holes. Total yardage from the par-3 tee boxes is 1,378 yards. Players hitting from the five par-4 tee boxes, plus the par-3 tee boxes on the other four holes, face 1,749 yards.
Annual memberships can be purchased or daily green fees paid. Personal golf carts are allowed on the course, with a daily or seasonal trail fee. Rental golf carts and clubs are available.
The Panorama West pro shop has food, beverages and golf accessories for sale during the season. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the pro shop is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Hours are adjusted spring and fall. Call the Panorama West pro shop at 641-755-2250.
